I don't think that we should start doning our posts in Coptic, (I am good with Coptic, so don't think that the only reason that I am saying this is because I can't read Coptic, because I can) I hope I didn't offend you Markoc.

If it does get approved then you can be certain that I will be the first one doing it, all we need is an ok. Very Happy

George Mekhaiel

I think this thread is fantastic! For those of us who do not know what Markoc means, it's time to pull out the Coptic dictionaries and lexicons, and actually try to learn something.

I cannot imagine the foggiest reason why, instead of encouraging such a learning exercise, we condemn it. Why don't you think it's a good idea, George? I'm curious.

I think that this is a great idea, and i commend it too, the only thing that I was worried about is those of us who don't understand Coptic, but like you said about the Coptic dictionaries and lexicons, ect; it will make it a good learning time.

Thanks for the reply
George

Ok I think I understand this one..

"And all the beloved here, may the Lord bless you all and grant the heavenly peace. Amen let it be so always."

Again another guess.. I agree with Paul - this is an awesome, stimulating, challenging thread!

"Until/when we want to use/speak coptic, it will become an everlasting tongue. (?) However, till that way becomes so, we have to continue achieving this until we reach the goal."

Am no coptic expert or scholar but at least i'm trying. Shocked

My guess

"I agree but the arabic language and coptic words/expressions confuse me when I try to write these things in Arabic."

FYI, I'm attempting these without an aid of a dictionary or lexicon.

That's right, Mina... good job. Maybe atthoowi or Remnkemi can fill us in on more.

if we want to succeed in the Coptic language we should speak it in the right way... there is no other way present, so that we will walk on it so that we reach our goal.
Be safe in the Lord.
