For some reason I cannot choose an avatar. Nothing happens when I try to do it. What might I be doing wrong?

Yes, I made it that far. But the system for selecting an avatar seems to be missing or not working.

Hello,

I will look into this for you. The process works for me, but perhaps something is different for newly registered users.

Hey Cildara, I just signed up a few days ago too but it worked for me, so I'm guessing it doesn't have to do with being a newcomer. So is it that you don't see the avatars at all or that once you select one it doesn't show up as your avatar?

I see everyone else's avatar. I have chosen several, the latest being the Three Youths. Once I select it and update the profile, nothing shows up afterward. Frustrating.

So that's the exact same thing that happened to me too when I tried getting an avatar the first time. You're sure you're pressing the button under the avatar and then clicking on "Select Avatar" and not "Cancel Avatar" that's right next to it, right?

Okay, so right now, you're at your profile. Right above where it says "Submit" and "Reset," there are two things you can click on, "Show Gallery" and "From PostNuke." Go ahead and click on "Show Gallery." That should take you to the avatars, and then you can go ahead and try what I said in my last post.

How did you choose the avatar of the Three Youth if you have no access to the gallery?

I selected it through the site profile, but it doesn't work for me on the forum profile.

I'm not too sure what the difference is between the site profile (and how to access it) and the forum profile. Sorry that I couldn't help. =/

You're stuck with this avatar forever. You'll be assigned this avatar in heaven and carry it around with you forever and ever. Amen.

I have the same problem as Cildara, it just gives me "Submit" and "Reset" with no pictures to choose from. Is it because I'm using IE 7 maybe?

Hello,

I am happy to report our avatar gallery has been fixed.

To change your avatar, please click on "Profile" at the top of any forum page. Go to the bottom of that page and select "Show Gallery" to choose a new avatar. After you choose one, you will be returned to the Profile page. Make sure you click "Submit" there to finalize your change.

GBU,
ps

Are we allowed to have any avatar that doesn't harm anyone that isn't necessarily religous? for example a sports Icon?

it's just an avatar you know.

Mina,

No, we don't allow that kind of avatar for the following reasons:

(1) This is a spiritual web site as opposed to a social one; we make our own avatars, which users may choose from. All of them are spiritual.

(2) Allowing people to submit their own avatars would invite abuse by people seeking to disrupt our service or who otherwise do not know better. The admins would much rather focus on adding content as opposed to moderating who's using what avatar.

Forgive me... hope this helps.

GBU,
