I just want to say , Ibrahim ayad this year drove me crazy . he kept on changing ( in very little ways ) some of the hymns . For instance agios ( even though i heard the version already , it was kind of diffrent in easter 2007 ) .

tony i am a personal friend of ibrahim ayad as well as someone who lived and breathed and ate with him and i can tell that you are too young to make that kind of comment on that much of a magnaimous person with vast knowledge of alhan much more than you will ever know.....a little humility is warranted for your generation of " alhan junkies "

Kastor999, regardless of how you feel about Ibrahim Ayad, it doesn't give you the right to generalize people as a "generation of alhan junkies". Nor do you know Tony at all to make such a judgement. Let's all keep the comments respectable.

Sorry to interject but I can see this topic getting out of control very quickly. If you guys would like to argue about Ibrahim Ayad and his alhan then please make another thread about it somewhere else because this thread is solely for the people who would actually like to find the Easter Liturgy from 2007 thanks

+ We thank the Lord, for He has dealt with us mercifully. +

We will offer the Easter 2007 Holy Liturgy on this web site shortly.

Until then, I agree that this thread should not delve into individual opinions concerning Mu'allim Ibrahim Ayaad or the visitors of this and other web sites. I am sure Satan is going to work overtime to make us stumble and fall during this holy period in the church. God willing, we will all resist evil and continue to deal with one another in patience and love.

GBU,
ps

ladies and gentleman,i am sorry for creating such an uproar about mou'alim ibrahim but I still stand behind my words ,when i say friend of mine ,no politics involved, i mean that i recorded alhan with him,i went to germany to record with him, i lived and travelled with him for seven years,i have known him for over 25 years etc,etc...
and as a friend of his ,who knows alhan well myself ,I DO NOT believe that anyone or everyone can comment about his expertise, nor can i dare as much as i can, with a little license, do so either....ie i humbly include myself in the category of alhan junkie ...although i can by the grace of GOD,discuss with certainty some of the individual hazzat.....all this aside i don't believe that the word humility was in any way a demeaning word to impose on my fellow copts and certainly not offensive by any stretch...and besides it is my responsiblity as a subdeacon for over 30 years to "suggest" it...thank you for reading

As i analyze what i said , I realise that what i said could have been carefully worded , or perhaps avoided all together . I apologize , Because in all honesty i am in no position whatsoever to question ibrahim ayad . To those who know me personally on this website could testify , i am the last person who should be speaking about hymnology , and festive tunes .

anyways , Frankly , do i care ? yes , because it is my desire to learn hymns more and more , because i find great joy in hymns and i try my best to perfect hymns . Am i an "alhan junkie "? well im not sure what your talking about ..define junkie .

Anyways , The reason for my response , is because i read that there was futher dialog about me and kastor999's comments to each other . Its not a big issue whatsoever . at all .

Forgive me and pray for me ,
Anthony .

I tried watching the liturgy on tasbeha.org, but some how it doesn't want to work, the picture is alright, but the sound is not clear at all, it seems like as if someone is fast forwarding it.

kristos anesti!
i never really post on these forums, i just really love to read them and sometimes i feel like i should give my opinion on some threads but i choose not to. This time i dont know why but i had to say something. kastor999 in regards to your posts about ibrahim ayaad, i know that you must feel very strongly about your opinions and you are entitled to. But one thing was said that i didnt like, when you said-"who knows alhan well myself." Come on man we shouldnt say things like that. The only reason that this small comment means alot to me is the fact that i rather dislike when deacons, despite knowledge, boast like this, you talk of humility and these strong words yet the way i read your post it did not seem that way. PLEASE do not take this wrong way, i do not mean anything by it, i have seen many deacons, old and young, of all ranks go down the wrong path with simple words like those. take care and happy easter!

hey bayonnecopt. i see where you could have misunderstood kastor999, but i think he was merely trying to point out that he was in a position where he was close to ibrahim ayad both physically as one who recorded with him and friendship wise.
and theres nothing wrong with him saying that he knows alhan. he was merely trying to point to his credibility when talkinng about things like that.

its a bit streching it when we say that he can go down the wrong path if we say something like this.

but believe me i agree with you a hundered percent on the issue that people do fall. but in kastors case i dont think he intended any wrong.

Hey one quick thing I would like to share with you guys that my priest definitly taught me. One time we had a deacons meeting that was really needed. Anytime anyone mentioned the word "I" abouna would stop him and say no it is "we" not I. In general you should only use "I" when you are at fault and not when there is something good about yourself. It truly keeps the devil from ruining your life. Here is another beautiful thing that we have to keep in mind and that has to be stressed before we loose the beauty of our church. I think the higher you get in rank the more humble you should be, otherwise you can easily fall just as many kings in the past who made themselves out to be equal to God. There is a huge ego issue with deacons today especially subdeacons and archdeacons, and I feel like a lot of times it is a compensation for low self esteem. How sad it is where deaconship that started originally with an amazing example, St. Stephen, and now deacons leave the church because they can't stand people leading on the mic or the mic being taken away from them. You know I pray that our church adapts the old way of praise again (in which there were no deacons leading outside and the congregation responded all together). Amen eseshopi!

in response to what you where saying , the whole congregation saying , is rare for the sole and simple reason of not educated the congregation on how beatifull the hymns , rarely enough , are you gonna find a the whole congregation say ass shopi for example ,
actualy there is a church where i heard this and its st mary east brunswick new jersey , ( im not from there so i m not biase)
may the Lord give us to pray in harmony , like the angels its beatifull when you find deacons that give to each other , bey ademo ba3d )
but its to bad some churchs have people that will just fight if you have knowledge of hymns , or the best line ever God hymns will not bring you to heaven well you know what it will , by understanding the hymns, by praying in harmony all together , your actually praying the hymn, not just singing it
