Hello,

I am happy to announce the development of the next version of coptichymns.net, which is slated for release by the Feast of the Nativity 2008.

It has certainly been a while since we made major changes to the site. For all purposes, the current version has served the community well. We've seen a staggering amount of new articles, new media, and participation from the community in this incarnation of the site. Unfortunately, it has been more difficult for myself and the other administrators to add Coptic hymns to this version, in part because of the technology and in part because of some choices we made a few years ago.

Earlier this year, we decided to make massive improvements and the new version has been a work in progress ever since. I did not announce it earlier, however, because it wasn't anywhere near completion. That has all changed now; the new version has come a long way and will, God willing and through your prayers, make a debut before the Feast of the Nativity.

The new version will be more of a platform than merely a site; it is going to offer the community many great things. Above all, it is going to give us the ability to add new Coptic hymns and other media very quickly.

We will not be fixing any links or other problems with this version, as it will soon be gone. We ask for your prayers and patience during this time.

GBU,
Paul

Hello,

This is not the next version. As I was working on it, some things with this version were broken, but they have been mostly fixed.

You will definitely notice when the new version is up. I've been making promises as to the date, but something always comes up and delays it, so this time, I won't make any projections about the release other than to say (1) I am working on it and (2) it will be ready when it's ready.

GBU,
ps
