+ Hey everyone,
Has anyone read The Practice of the Presence of God by Brother Lawrence (a Roman Catholic Carmelite monk)? I'm thinking about reading it, but I want to know if anyone has any opinions or suggestions about the book before I do so.
Thanks |

I looove that book. Good reading. If you're asking if there are any heretical ideas in it, I think the answer is "no". |

I liked the book very much, it is was also published with the title "The God-illuminated Cook" (the version I own) but there is a translation/edition out there that has a passage translated so it is favors a protestant view, but other than that it is a great book. Nothing heretical. |

Sorry to sound curmudgeonly but when I read it years ago (and the old memory may be letting me down here), I found it more in tune with a Buddhist way rather than the Christian with the Last Judgement on the horizon.
Please read it, it wont harm you, and let us know.
God bless |
