Does anyone out there happen to know the year Archdeacon Habib Guirgus wrote The Mystery of Godliness?
Your help is greatly appreciated.

I checked out your link and none of the chapters in the Spiritual Library, including the very first ones, have the actual year that the archdeacon wrote the book.

The book is a collection of articles written by Habaib Guirgis so thre is no one year where he wrote the book. Though I believe a majority of the chapters in it originally appeared as articles in the "Karma" magazine which he published betweeen 1907-1924.
Keeping in mind he was born in 1876 and died 1951, so the articles were written anytime in between. |

Just to echo Peter, I would like to add that during the time of Habib Guirgis the church was lacking in the area of teaching future generations. Even priests hardly very profound in their own understanding of faith but were only limited to stricktly adhearing to the sacraments which they were ordained to perform. Habib Guirgis was a good teacher who understood a great deal about spirituality and would typically go around and give sermons in churches. He also was a pioneer in starting Sunday School for churches.
Which leads me to say that The Mystery of Godliness is a compilement of many sermons and lessons given by Habib Guirgis, as Peter said.
