Greetings,
A couple questions...
1) Is Jefesmarwout usually chanted after the 4 Gospel responses in the liturgy on Palm Sunday?
2) Do most churches usually play the cymbals during the Matins Procession responses?
Thanks. |

Yes we play the cymbals. And no jefesmarout is needed. The hosanna is the response after each verse. |

We chant je efesmarouot after every gospel response as this is the correct order for a gospel response anytime of the year. I know some churches do not chant this fir the purpose of time saving but we cannot teach it to be correct practice not to chant this verse.
Also why play the cymbals? do you play the cymbals with every other gospel response throughout the year? I do not see why this should be treated any different. some people may consider the 12 verses after each of the 12 gospels 'hymns' but they are not. They are merely gospel responses. |

Thanks for clarifying, Andrew; those two points were exactly what I was thinking about. |
