Hello to all of our HCOC brothers,

Paul and I were recently reviewing your excellent CD set when we noticed an error.

In the recordings from Mu'allim Mikhail, Mu'allim Farag, and Mu'allim Ibrahim Ayaad, as well as Albair's Deacon's Service book, the actual reading of the Praxis on Thursday has the following words:

auvwn `ebol. Ouoh afouwnh `ebol nouon niben

These words appear immediately before the phrase,  etsop qen `Ilym.

Unfortunately, the whole verse is missing from the chorus' recording! I have a feeling this is an error and thought it would be right to bring it up immediately so people don't start removing lines from the reading.

Yes, our apologizes, we were aware of this ..... we did record it in the studio. But the studio guy deleted it by accident while editing, so god willing we will fix that for next year with a correction cd. Sorry for any inconvience this might have caused anyone. Very Happy Pray for the choir in your prayers.

Piekhristos Aftonf!

I also have a question. Is it KE iperto or KAI iperto? On the back cover of the CDs is says Kai, but in the booklet in says Ke. Also, in the Pascha books that most people use it is Ke, but in the big hardcover black book made by the church in "Connecticut", it says "Kai". But then again, that book has plenty of mistakes :S
In Christ,
Jastootie.

Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.

kai is how it is spelled in Greek and Copts changed it to Ke to be easier to read... so both are correct.

I would not say both are correct. If KE is the way Coptic spells this originally greek word, then it should be spelled this way, not flip-flopped.

When I taught the deacons in my church this hymn this year, I typed for them a paper with the text of the hymn once in Coptic, once in proper Greek, and two different english translations. I wish church books were like this, either write the Greek hymns in Greek letters and accents, or at least provide two texts, but definitely not write Coptic letters as if this is how Coptic spells it.

At least its pronounced the same Razz but the only reason is so it could be read easier... can't really do anything now, unless u have a time machine and go back to the copts that changed it Very Happy haha, but i understand what you mean, HEY at least we still have the hymn and didn't lose it like hundreds of other hymns! Very Happy
