I had come across the photo blow which claimed it was a picture of the Holy Synod from 1936 which would put it during the reign of Pope Yoannes (John) XIX but I doubt that dating since the pope (seated in the center) looks more like Pope Kyrillous (Cyril) V, based on pictures I have seen of both patriarchs. Also the bishop seated on the far left bears a striking resemblance to Anba Abraam. This makes me believe this picture is probably 1913 or maybe earlier.

My question then is which is probably the more corect dating and who are the bishops photograph?

How do you know which one is the pope? All the bishops are wearing essentially the same thing. I don't see anyone wearing the extra stuff that the pope wears nowadays.

If this is a picture of 1936, then it can't be HG Bishop St. Abraam, since he passed away in 1914. Judging from this rare picture:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:AnbaAbraam.jpg

St. Abraam seemed to have a more rounded face than the one here.

Seeing a picture from Wikipedia, HH Pope Cyril V seems to have a more rounded beard than this Pope.

We used to have in the photo gallery another rare picture of St. Abraam with another bishop/metropolitan (not sure which one) and a group of men and priests behind them.

But compared to this picture of Pope Yoannes XIX
Image

The pope in the picture has a fuller beard and his nose is not as long.

As regards to Anba Abraam, if this photo is closer to when he died than the portrait than I can understand the thinner more drawn face.

Just not sure.
