Dear Abahoor,
I think the second word makes more sense. "Av" is the very adjunctive of "they", which is used in Coptic to refer to the indirect speech; "ka" comes from "kw" meaning leave, or cause to put someone in some state (e.g. "afka nennovi nan evol" = (lit.) left our sins out), and the last "f" not "v" refers to him (masculine direct object). In summary, it is "avkaf = he was left"
God bless you and pray for us a lot |

Abahoor,
It's
au,af
. "He was placed in the tomb".
au,au
means "they were placed".
