Part 1 - The Prayer

My Lord Jesus Christ,
Thou True Son of God,
Have Mercy upon me,
I the sinner.
(*2)

I am weak and frail Lord,
And I cannot fight;
Grant me strength my Saviour,
Lord I need Thy might!

Lord the righteous suffer,
So then what of me?
Lord I fall more often,
What vict’ry can I see?!

I sometimes feel forsaken;
I feel I cannot cope.
Where is Thy aid, Lord?
In what can I hope?

Out of the great depths,
To Thee cries my soul,
It doth wait upon Thee,
Longing to be whole.

If Thou didst count sins, then
My God, who could stand?
Yet Thou loveth perfection -
It Thou dost demand.

My Lord Jesus Christ,
Thou True Son of God,
Have mercy upon me,
I the sinner.

Lord I need an answer
And I need Thy aid
Do not let me despair Lord,
While in the pits I wade.

Verse 2 - God's Response

Good and faithful servant,
Come ye unto me.
Hear my words of comfort,
My peace with you be.
(*2)

Cast your net with faith and
Stretch your palsied arm,
Show me you believe
I will keep you from harm.

Trials you shall meet,
Of that you can be sure.
Is there a strong foundation
Not built to endure?

As one fallen in war,
You cry out, distressed.
Child have you forgotten,
My Name my Father blessed?

Child, My name is vict'ry,
My name is a sword -
Satan falls before It,
On him my wrath is poured.

To you my name is sweet and
It is a fountain,
Sweeter more than honey:
A hope that grows not thin.

Good and faithful servant,
Come ye unto me.
Hear my words of comfort,
My peace with you be.

Gird your loins with truth, Child
Go stand up and fight,
Behold I go before you,
My Name is your might.

Verse 3 - Conclusion

My Lord Jesus Christ,
Thou True Son of God,
Have mercy upon me,
I the sinner.

Thy Name is Salvation,
My heart it consoles,
Rememb’ring it our Saviour,
Brings joy to our souls.
